Rowan Oak, Faulkner’s home in Oxford, MS

Mississippi and Mint Juleps…

Rowan Oak Faulkners Home

William Faulkner, the author of The Sound and the Fury and Absalom, Absalom lived in Oxford, Mississippi for most of his adult life. His home and museum are situated in the middle of a wooded neighborhood in the middle of town, near the University of Mississippi.

Faulkners Writing Room

His writing room remains as he left it the last time he worked there prior to his death. The house is nice, but not very ostentatious. It seems like a peaceful place to spend time with family and write in peace.

I could easily imagine Faulkner sitting on the porch or wandering across the grounds, plotting out his latest novel. Rowan Oak Back Porch
