Tishomingo State Park, Natchez Trace Parkway, MS

We ate at Waffle House for breakfast, so decided to go “less lard” for dinner.

We got a primitive campsite at Tishomingo State Park, off Natchez Trace Pkwy. $13 /night, woohoo!Tishomingo Sign

SDC13265 (2)The campground wraps around Haynes Lake, which provided us with a nice light breeze that night. The park also has hiking trails and some archaeological markers with information about the paleo-indians and later Chickasaw Nation inhabitants (Chief Tishomingo, most notably).

Kate cooked us up some seitan with potatoes and onions out of our cooler. The home cookin’ on the road plan is underway!
