During Territory Days in Old Colorado City, we got to try out a restaurant we’ve been meaning to visit for a while. Monse’s Pupuseria is somewhat difficult to find since it’s not on the main strip, but they have a nice outdoor seating area and are very vegan-friendly.
They mainly just do one thing: pupusas, which are pretty good. Every pupusa comes with a side of Curtido (pickled coleslaw), which would make a nice light lunch. I ordered two pupusas with an extra side of Escabeche (pickled cauliflower) which was nice, and very filling. So I didn’t have any room left for dessert.
Oh, and their fried plantains are excellent! (As good as any Jamaican restaurant I’ve been to!)
Nothing was spicy hot, and the prices were very reasonable. We’ll be visiting again to try out their other vegan selections.
