On Wallops Island, NASA has a flight facility. It mostly launches rockets, satellites, and sometimes supplies to the International Space Station. We stopped by the visitor center as we were leaving Chincoteague Island. It is a small center, with a nice educational video (tailored to school groups) that explains the history of Wallops Flight Facility and future projects. It’s very positive and an energetic encouragement for continued space exploration. We just missed viewing a rocket launch by three days, too bad.
